During your sentence you can file an appeal or try to bribe the judge to get released sooner.
How it works
- When jailed, the court screen shows your active conviction with remaining time, crime and judge profile.
- An appeal costs money based on your current sentence length. If granted, your sentence is usually reduced by about 20-40%.
- You can appeal only once per conviction and a cooldown applies to rapid retries.
- Bribery uses a player-selected amount. That amount is always deducted, even when the attempt fails.
- A higher bribe amount increases success chance. On success, you are released immediately.
- Your criminal record keeps earlier convictions with dates and court-history details even when you are no longer jailed.
- A successful judge bribe removes only that current conviction from your criminal record.
- If you want to wipe your full criminal record, you must do it outside court through the late-game Wipe Criminal Record crime.
Tips
- Use appeals on long sentences first: expected time saved is highest there.
- Use bribery only with enough cash buffer, because payment is always deducted.
